The Laguna Hills Surgery Center was founded in 2003 by a group of physicians seeking to create a more efficient, less stressful and cost-effective environment for ambulatory surgery.  In 2008, the Laguna Hills Surgery Center partnered with Surgical Care Affiliates (SCA), Inc., based in Birmingham, Alabama.  SCA is one of the nation’s largest independent surgical care companies, with a network of 139 outpatient surgery centers and three surgical hospitals located in 35 states.
